After about a month lazy beach life, relax, and some alcoholic celebration of christmas and New Year, finally we managed to leave this paradise beach for a few days :-)

Goal: Hampi

Situated approximately 400km inland, east of Goa. Together with our holiday guest "Beichi" we dive straight into the real India! The trip was marked by many idiotic drivers, busy villages, poverty, chilli + cotton fields was certainly interesting and a different world compared to the Swiss Daily Life, also confirmed by Matthew.

Sports Exercise!

Early out of bed, ready for an active day! :-) Instead of a rickshaw (motorized tricycle TukTuk) We rent bicycles and curve around the incredible constructed temples of Hampi. Really Impressive the temples but also the landscape. Rice fields, banana plantations, rivers, and hills with hundreds, even thousands huge boulders. Hard to believe that during millions years of volcanic activity and erosion, the earth could form such an incredibly impressive landscape. For some crazy combinations of stone, i really asked myself whether there was a crane to help building it. Hihi!:-)

Camera tripod and Indians = NO GO!

Roman had also his hour when a Indian women was going to forbid him to make a tripod Group Picture. Tripods are not allowed, no one knows exactly why! And so came what had to come, the battle lines hardened and Roman's carotid artery emerged and threatened to burst. Ironically, Roman's high tech camera broke down a few hours later and is now in Switzerland for repairing.

Camping in the boulders of Hampi

On the second day it was time to climb stairs! 570 steps to the top of the Hanuman temple, the home of dozens of monkeys. Ufff, we really felt that we don't have enough sport condition anymore. Well at least the view of the surrounding rock formations was worth the climb and is absolutely spectacular.

The atmosphere fascinated us that much that we decided to camp in this area. On the way back to the car we were able to convince Matthias, not to miss such an adventure :-) Sleeping bags and tent packed and then off we go, more or less perfectly timed for sunset. There was no lack of silence and fresh air. Rather the uncomfortable surface was a reason that it was not the most comfortable night for one or the other ;-) Nevertheless, a great experience!

Conclusion:

All in all a super cool trip with our Friend Matthew! The nine-hour return trip was exhausting, but what do you want to complain when the beach invites you again to relax! :-)
